Privacy Policy

This policy refers to the privacy of your information, including when using the Nationwide Pension Fund website.

The Trustee of the Nationwide Pension Fund (the Fund) holds personal data about you, your dependants and beneficiaries. The Trustee needs this to be able to administer benefits under the Fund, and pay pensions.

The Trustee (as “data controller” for data protection purposes) is required to look after your personal data in accordance with legal requirements. This means the Trustee is responsible for deciding what personal information needs to be processed, the way in which that information is processed and how long it is held for.

In processing your personal data, the Trustee may need to pass personal information about you, your dependants and other members and beneficiaries, to the Fund’s administrators, auditors, legal advisers, insurers, reinsurers and third parties that may have a legitimate interest in receiving that information in connection with administering the Fund.

Further details of the types of personal data the Trustee holds, how that information is used, and who it is shared with are set out in the Fund’s Privacy Notice, in the Legal Documents, which can be found in the Library section of the website. The Privacy Notice also sets out your rights around the personal data, held about you by the Trustee, and who to contact if you want to exercise those rights, make a complaint, or generally have any questions.

It is your responsibility to keep the Trustee up-to-date with any changes in your personal information, including your contact details, and any change in your marital status or nominated beneficiaries. Without this information, there may be delays in paying benefits to you or your dependants.

The Trustee uses the services of various external third parties including legal, actuarial, administration, communications and medical advisers, the auditor, insurers, reinsurers and tracing agencies which may involve sharing personal data. Some of these parties may be classed as data controllers in their own right. If this is the case, you can find a link to their privacy notice below.
